Biotechnology:
The use of Biological processes, organisms or systems to establish a product that tend to improve
human life is termed as biotechnology.

1.Red Biotechnology ( related with health and medicines)
2.White Biotechnology (Applicable in industries for processing of new chemicals)
3.Green Biotechnology (used in agriculture)
4.Yellow Biotechnology ( Applicable in food production)
5.Dark Biotechnology ( Biological Warfare)
6.Gold Biotechnology ( Cross between biological process and monitoring the data by
using computers i.e Bioinformatics)
Scope Of Biotechnology:
Scope is termed as that how much far you can go with the field. Or up to what extent you can make
your career in a relevant field is known as it’s scope.
So any field in zoology is a scope of biotechnology. or we can say that in any field in which we can
apply Biotechnology is known as it’s scope.
Applications of Biotechnology:
The live or ongoing procedures which we perform using biotechnology is it’s application.

●Secondly the commercial production of enzymes just like reverse transcriptase is also

on Biotechnology.
●Staining technique and Elisa( a diagnosing technique) are also the applications of
Biotechnology.
3. Treatment:
●Biotechnology plays a vital role in the treatment of different diseases.
●Antibiotics production comes under it.
●And also vitamin production is an application of Biotechnology.
●Biotechnology also has role in preventive measures against any disease. Vaccines
are the best examples of it.
4. Agriculture:
●Biotechnology related to the agriculture is known as green biotechnology.

●Selective breeding of plants.
●Producing pest resistant plants.
