F. COURSE DESCRIPTION​​​ : This course deals with the fundamentals of business organizations and management. The
​​​​​ theories and principles of organization and management, as well as their application in
business and industry are thoroughly discussed. The functions of management (Planning, Organizing,
Staffing, Directing and Controlling) and the different forms of Business Ownership with their strengths
and weaknesses form part of the course coverage. The Course covers the benefits derived from
entrepreneurship and importance of social responsibility as another goal of business.

​ OUTCOMES​​​​ :
A.​Common Business and Management Education Courses
A graduate of a Business or Management degree should be able to:
1.​perform the basic functions of management such as planning, organizing, leading and controlling;
2.​apply the basic concepts that underlie each of the functional areas of business (marketing, finance, human resources management,
production and operations management, information technology, and strategic management) and employ these concepts in various business
situations;
3.​select the proper decision making tools to critically, analytically and creatively solve problems and drive results;
4.​express clearly and communicate effectively with stakeholders both in oral and written forms;
5.​apply information and communication technology (ICT) skills as required by the business environment;
6.​work effectively with other stakeholders and manage conflict in the workplace;
7.​plan and implement business related activities;
8.​demonstrate corporate citizenship and social responsibility; and

9.​exercise high personal moral and ethical standards.

B.​Business Administration Core/Professional Major
A graduate of a business administration degree should be able to:
1.​analyze the business environment for strategic direction;
2.​prepare operational plans;
3.​innovate business ideas based on emerging industry;
4.​manage a strategic business unit for economic sustainability; and
5.​conduct business research.
6.​to participate in various types of employment, development activities, and public discourses in response to the needs of the communities one
serves.

Specific professions/careers/occupations:

Management Trainee in Corporate Finance, Management Trainee in a bank or insurance company, New Account Personnel, Credit and Collection
Assistant, Credit Analyst, Treasury Assistant, Entrepreneur, Cashier and Trader/Financial Analyst.

P. COURSE POLICIES​
​ The students are expected to comply with the course policies:
A.​Attendance
i.​Students reporting to class 15 minutes after the beginning of the period shall be considered late. Habitual
tardiness shall be grounds for disciplinary action.
ii.​Students should attend classes regularly and punctually. Beyond 20% absence, at any time during the semester,
she/he gets an FA (Failure due to absences)
B.​Class Participation
i.​Every student should participate in class discussion
ii.​Recitation or class participation shall be merited with corresponding grades

C.​Examination, Written Outputs, and Projects
i.​The academic year is divided into four periods namely prelim, midterm, pre-final, and final period
ii.​Each student must take the major examination and must comply with the academic policy of the institution
regarding examination regulations.
iii.​The project shall be determined by the subject teacher with a weighted percentage of 20%.
D.​Behavior
i.​Every student must adhere to the student handbook and failure to observe the proper behavior will be subject to
disciplinary actions as mentioned in the student handbook
E.​Grading System:
i.​The prelim, midterm, pre-final, and final periods shall have a weighted percentage as follows:
