3. Challanges Overgrazing: Overgrazing occurs when cattle consume vegetation faster than it can regenerate, leading to soil erosion, loss of biodiversity, and degradation of pastureland. In the existing situation, there had been a decline of about 17% in the total cropped area, which indicates that the farmers were keeping their fields fallow due to the problem of animal menace.The proportion of area affected by animal menace was 33.03% of the total cropped area. It was found that on an average 45.76, 43.07 and 31.25% of total area under maize, wheat and paddy, respectively was prone to animal menace.
