Causes Of Blurry Vision And Dizziness
A stroke—a decrease in blood flow to the brain due to a clot or bleeding—is a medical emergency.
Antihistamines relieve hay fever and other allergy symptoms They work by blocking histamines
produced by the body that cause a runny nose , watery eyes , sneezing , and itching In some people,
these drugs can cause an emergency condition called angle-closure glaucoma , which occurs when
the pressure inside the eye increases rapidly. Symptoms include headache , severe eye pain , nausea
and vomiting , blurred vision, and seeing halos around lights. Hi, for the past half year I have been
having occasional sudden blurred vision losses. These two vision issues don't sound the same to me.
I, too, have suffered from blurred vision while exercising intensely.
The dry eye syndrome can affect your eyes in a number of ways including fluctuating and blurred
vision. This is a condition whereby objects appear blurred irrespective of the distance you're viewing
them from. If you're over the age of 40 and you begin to experience blurred vision when viewing
objects up close, it could be a case of presbyopia. If you experience cloudy or blurred vision
accompanied by night ‘halos' and glares, you might be suffering from cataracts.
Kirsten, who was in Johannesburg-on a gap year trip, rang her parents, who insisted she see an eye
specialist. A special laser is used to make the retina sticky so the torn section can be pushed back to
stick against the wall of the eye. As a further precaution, the surgeon may use pneumatic retinopexy,
where a gas bubble is injected into the eye and positioned against the retinal tear. This prevents
more fluid going under the retina and pushes the tear onto the wall of the eye to seal it.
Two weeks after her first operation, Kirsten returned to have the tears in her other eye treated using
laser treatment under a local anaesthetic. Permanent or recurring white or black spots in the same
area of your field of vision may, however, be an early warning sign of cataracts or another serious
eye problem. If you notice a sudden change in the type or number of spots or flashes you see, seek
medical advice as soon as possible. The causes of gradually blurring vision are usually through the
improper use of your eyes. The common symptoms of blurred vision are usually obvious such as
deterioration of eyesight, eye pains and the like.
Your health care provider will recommend earlier and more frequent exams if you have known eye
problems or conditions that are known to cause eye problems, such as diabetes or high blood
pressure. Updated by: Linda J. Vorvick, MD, Medical Director and Director of Didactic Curriculum,

All people who experience a sudden loss of vision should see an ophthalmologist (a medical doctor
who specialize in the evaluation and treatment—surgical and nonsurgical—of eye disorders) or go
to the emergency department right away. Doctors ask the person to describe when loss of vision
occurred, how long it has been present, and whether if has progressed. People are asked whether
loss affects one or both eyes and whether loss is total or affects only a specific part of the field of
vision. Doctors ask about symptoms that are not related to the eyes and risk factors for disorders
that may cause eye problems.
Most people who have open-angle glaucoma feel fine and do Sudden Blurred Vision in One Eye not

notice a change in their vision at first because the initial loss of vision is of side or peripheral vision,
and the visual acuity or sharpness of vision is maintained until late in the disease. By the time a
patient is aware of vision loss, the disease is usually quite advanced. Because open-angle glaucoma
has few warning signs or symptoms before damage has occurred, it is important to see a doctor for
regular eye examinations. She currently practices as an ophthalmologist at Valley Eye Center in Van
Nuys, California.
For example, people with nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism or presbyopia - age-related
difficulty seeing near objects - may occasionally experience bouts of dizziness along with blurry
vision. Even pregnancy-related eye changes can lead to periods of distorted vision and dizziness.
Although some vision changes that can cause dizziness do not reflect a serious medical problem, it is
important to have any change in vision evaluated by an eye doctor, especially if the change occurs
suddenly. Anything that decreases blood flow to the brain can lead to dizziness and blurry vision.
