Effective communication
Personal hygiene
Keep patient informations confidential.
Do not take photographs of patients without consent.
Do not play doctor - means do not tell patients or their relatives anything about
the disease condition. Only a doctor or registered medical practitioner can do
so.
Do not harm patients at any cost.
Do not make faces in front of patients or relatives. Do not whisper each other.
Double check the names of patient before any procedure. Patient identification
is important.
Learn to speak native language. It helps.
Documentation. Documentation. Documentation.
ETHICS
Be polite to everybody in the hospital.
Do not gossip.
Do not steal.
Do not fight.
Greet everyone. They may not greet you back. But should greet.
Approach patients with a smile.
Do not tell about your personal matters or affairs to patients or staff.
Do not show your frustrations. Hospital is not the place for it.
If you face any problems, like sexual harassment or discrimination or something
like that, do not make it a show. Instead, give complaints to your supervisors.
Show compassion. Be patient.
ATTITUDE
Make sure you do whatever your superiors tell you to do at the right time.
Ask patients their name before administering any drug.
Learn something new everyday. You can do this only by constantly asking.
Show intrest .
Report important events to the superiors or In- charge of that particular
department.
If a patient comes with a bio hazard file, make sure everybody's aware of it.
If you're supposed to transport any patient files, make sure every single page is
safe.
Do not dig into others personal business.
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
Cut your nails.
Neat haircuts and cleanly groomed beard.
Bath before coming to hospital and after going back from hospital.
Hand hygiene. Wash hands using hand washing techniques. Use hand rubs.
Wear clean, washed, ironed clothes. Wear ID cards. Scrub suits must be washed
daily.
Wear Personnel Protective Equipments ( PPE) [ Masks, Caps, Goggles, Face
shields, Gowns, Aprons, Shoe covers, Gloves, PPE kits]
If you're infected, take leave, take meds, come back after cured. Do not spread
infections.
