Parts of the Thesis

Parts of the Thesis The Cover Page should be written in an inverted pyramid style in a single space. It is the first page of the thesis/dissertation manuscript. The Cover Page includes the title of the research , which should be in bold and in uppercase , names of the research authors, degree and major, college and the school, the address of the school, and the year of completion of the research .

Parts of the Thesis The Approval Sheet should contain the research title, which is written in bold uppercase letters. The advisory committee consists of the thesis/dissertation adviser , thesis/dissertation chair , two (2) panel members , thesis coordinator, program chairperson, and the dean, along with the signatures and date of approval . Names of the signatories should be in bold uppercase letters .

Parts of the Thesis The Research Authors are the researchers' descriptions . It contains the research author’s data: graduation picture, full name, birthday and birthplace, educational background with dates, and degree and honor/s received. Write it in essay form, not more than 450 words, and always in the third person

Parts of the Thesis The Acknowledgment is a list of individuals and institutions and their contributions to writing the thesis or dissertation .

Main Parts of Thesis

CHAPTER I

Main Parts of the Thesis CHAPTER I consists of an Introduction Statement of the Problem Objective of the Study Significance of the Study Scope and Limitations of the Study Theoretical Framework Conceptual Framework Definition of Terms.

Main Parts of the Thesis The Introduction is a mental road map or the bird’s eye view of the research that establishes the background (especially when the statistics are needed), topic, scope, context, significance, and potential research outcomes. In writing the introduction, highlight the importance of researching the chosen topic by justifying why to conduct the research and cite the university's agenda, relevant government agencies’ agenda, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) addressed by the research . The last part of the introduction should answer why the topic is essential to investigate and how the research will advance new knowledge or new ways of understanding

Main Parts of the Thesis The Statement of the Problem shows that something is wrong, needs an explanation, and needs attention . It is stated in question form, expressing what the research is about, what readers expect to learn, what needs to be solved, proved, or verified at the end of the research

Main Parts of the Thesis The Objective of the Study is the actions to be accomplished to solve the research problem. Objectives are stated in terms of observable verbs (e.g. determine, identify, evaluate, analyze), which follow the SMART Principle : Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bounded .

Main Parts of the Thesis The Significance of the Study enumerates who should benefit from the research or what potential benefits or applications the research findings contribute to an individual or a certain sector/s of the community . Order the beneficiaries according to their commonality and level of importance .

Main Parts of the Thesis The Scope and Limitations of the Study explains the focus or coverage of the study . It tells the reader the extent or boundary of the research . It enumerates the variables included in research and those that are not.

Main Parts of the Thesis The Theoretical Framework is a brief discussion of the theory/theories (at most three) used in the research. Highlight how the theory/theories connect/ guide/ support the research.

Main Parts of the Thesis The Conceptual Framework is the visual representation of the concept and flow of the research.

Main Parts of the Thesis The Definition of Terms enumerates the essential terms used operationally in the research . They are presented alphabetically .

Main Parts of the Thesis The Definition of Terms enumerates the essential terms used operationally in the research . They are presented alphabetically .

CHAPTER II

Main Parts of the Thesis CHAPTER II presents the overall research design used in the study's conduct towards realizing its objectives. It includes the : Research Design Research Method Population and Sampling Design Data Gathering Procedure Statistical Treatment of Data

Main Parts of the Thesis For Research Method , In a simple sentence, write the research method utilized in the collection of data or evidence for analysis to uncover new information or create a better understanding of a topic . Different colleges of the university may have different parts of the research method

Main Parts of the Thesis For Research Design, write in a sentence a general strategy utilized by the researchers. Mention whether the research will use quantitative, qualitative, quasi quantitative-qualitative, experiential

Main Parts of the Thesis For ethical considerations , researches involving human subjects or participants require review and approval by the Research Ethics Board . Similarly, researches that involve animals are require review and approval by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC ). Write the chosen respondents, sampling size, and the specific sampling technique used in the Population and Sampling Design. To determine the number of samples, consult a statistician.

Main Parts of the Thesis The Data Gathering Procedure describes the step-by-step process used to obtain the information in research to substantiate the claims made by a researcher. The process shall include the description of the instrument used in the research .

Main Parts of the Thesis Statistical Treatment of Data discusses the statistical tools employed in attaining the objectives of the research

GUIDELINES FOR THESIS DEFENSE

Guidelines for Thesis Defense Grading System The final grade for the thesis shall be given by the adviser and TAC members based on the following criteria: 60% - Adviser (duration of the Project/Research) 40% - Research Advisory Committee (Panel Presentation/ Oral Defense) 100% - Total/Final Grade
