Centripetal & centrifugal forces

Slide Content

kinesiology It is an analysis of human motion based upon scientific principles Bio-Mechanics , M uscular Skeletal Anatomy and Neuromuscular Physiology . LUTTGENS & WELLS

force Force is the push or pull on an object with that causes it to change velocity .

Centripetal Force The component of force acting on an object in curvilinear motion which is directed toward the axis of rotation or center of curvature. Unit Of Centripetal Force: Newton

HOW IS CENTRIPETAL FORCE IS CALCULATED F = M.A Where as A= MV2/R F = MV2/R F = F  is the Centripetal force. a c  is the Centripetal acceleration. m  is the mass of the object. v  is the speed or velocity of the object. r  is the radius.

SOME EXAMPLES OF CENTRIPETAL FORCE

Centrifugal Force If an object moving in a circle and experiences an outward force than this force is called the centrifugal force. However, the force also depends on the mass of the object, the distance from the center of the circle and also the speed of rotation.  Unit Of Centrifugal Force: Newton

HOW IS CENTRIFUGAL FORCE CALCULATED? F = -M.A Where as A= MV2/R F = -MV2/R F = F  is the Centripetal force. a c  is the Centripetal acceleration. m  is the mass of the object. v  is the speed or velocity of the object. r  is the radius . As the force is outward that is why it is negative
