Bulang is one of a village in Sidoarjo regency, exactly at Prambon district. The
village well known with traditional Klepon Cake sellers, so it’s called as village of
Klepon.
A small round cake made from glutinous flour, green outer with brown sugar
inside, served with grated coconut.
The fragrance of pandanus as a coloring of klepon is combined with the melting
of the sweet taste of Javanese sugar when the klepon is bitten.
Mrs. Nunuk's klepon referred to as the first Bulang klepon. "This is a hereditary
family business," said Toni, Mrs. Nunuk's valve attendant.
Toni said that Mrs. Nunuk is as the third generation. The founder of the Bulang
klepon was her grandmother, then continued by Bu Nunuk's parents before
finally being continued by Bu Nunuk.
Bulang Klepon is quite well-known because it has a distinctive taste, which is
different from other klepon," said one of klepon lovers. Klepon become an icon
of Bulang Village as a village of Klepon. Not surprisingly, on holidays many
visitors from other town deliberately visit to Bulang village for tasting Bulang
klepon.
