3. The dictionary defines an event as ‘anything that happens, as distinguished from anything that exists’ or ‘an occurrence, especially one of great importance ’. Event is commonly understood as and occurrence or something that happens. An event is something that ‘happens’ not just ‘exists’, And here is the biggest issue somebody has to make it happen. 4. Events are often “Once in a lifetime "experience for the Participants. They are generally expensive to stage. They usually take place over a short time span. They required long and careful planning. They generally take place only one (However Many are held annually, usually at the sense time every year) The cavy a high level of risk, including financial risk and safety risk. 8. Regional events are designed to increase the appeal of a specific tourism destination or region, FAN Fair. The world’s biggest country music festival, held annually in NASHVILLE, TENNESSE,the KENTUCKY DERBY. REGIONAL EVENT

10. SHILLONG : ( May 14, 2015 .) The Cherry Blossoms with their illuminating glow lasts for 10 days in the month of November , hence the glorification of the festival tumbles in the first 4 days of the third week of November . CHERRY BLOSOM FESTIVAL

These events attract significant local interest & large numbers of participants, as well as generating significant tourism revenue As for example, Chinese new-year celebrations are held in many capital cities. In Honolulu , the event includes many festivals & tradition for the new year, including the lion dance , lantern festival , parades & dragon boat races. Friends and relative of Chinese community are often visit during these time. MAJOR EVENTS

13. The festival kick offs in Shillong on Friday October 21 and 22, 2016, for the seventh edition of Bacardi NH7 Weekender at Madan Kurkalang in Bhoirymbong , Ri-Bhoi district . The two-day festival, which entertained the region’s music enthusiasts on , which was seen many maiden performances by international and national artistes. The international artistes which was expected are Steven Wilson , Natty, Rhythm Shaw , Rive r, Mali , The Ritornellos and Vertical Horizon . Farhan , and other popular local artistes who performed at the festival last year was Papon and Lucid Recess from Guwahati . NH7 Music Festival In Meghalaya

Almost every town, cities, country, and state host annual events. Example of such minor events ,which currently happened in Meghalaya at Ri-Bhoi district is Ri-bhoi Day celebration of its silver jubilee which was held from 5 th -9 th June 2017 at Pahamsyiem M inor Events

24. For to conclude, as we have seen the above slides, Event are classified in to two different type i.e. base on its SIZES & TYPES. Depending upon the sizes of the event we have mega events , regional events , major events , minor events , And depending upon the types of events we have seen that its of Sporting , Entertainment arts & culture , Festivals, Family, Fundraising, Miscellaneous event , such as rose day, dog day, horse teddy bear day etc. All these events their main purpose is gathering of people.
