Safety Data Sheet ( SDS)

What is “Hazardous Material”?

How Hazardous Materials Affect the body ?

Ingestion

Absorption: Substances that contact the eye and the skin may be either absorbed into the body or cause local effects.

Inhalation This means taking a material into the body by breathing it in. In the lungs, very tiny blood vessels are in constant contact with the air we breath in. As a result, airborne contaminants can be easily absorbed through this tissue.

Hydrochloric Acid (HCL) Strong acid with pH level of 1.1 at 38% concentration. Clear, colourless, highly pungent solution Highly corrosive Release fumes come into contact with skin, eyes, or internal organs, the damage can be irreversible or even fatal in severe cases.

Sulphuric Acid (H2SO4) Strong acid with pH level of 0.3 at 98.08% concentration Colourless, Slightly yellow viscous liquid Soluble in water Highly corrosive Can cause serious burn when not handled properly. Capable of corroding skin, paper, metals, with even stone. Directly contact with eyes, can cause permanent blindness. Ingested can cause internal burns, irreversible organ damage, and possibly death.

Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) Caustic Soda Strong alkaline with pH 14 Contact can severely irritate and burn the skin and eyes with possible permanent eye damage, causing blindness. Contact can irritate mouth, nose and throat. Inhaling can irritate the lungs causing coughing and shortness of breath
