www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day -1 Columns Marking Center line marking for the placement for column . Set the baseline and other boundaries Mark the excavation area. Ensure soil testing. Determine the depth of the columns . The depth of the columns depends on the condition of the soil. Location= Janthagondanahalli Date=01-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day -2 Excavation Foundation Excavation for footing and foundation is the process of digging the earth to create an open face to support a building's foundation. The foundation is essential for a safe and long-lasting building. The excavation process involves multiple steps at different stages of the building process. Location = Janthagondanahalli Date=02-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day -3 Starter . After Marking ,When fitting th e shutter to columns starter are used. On this day they thought us about column starte r placing and casting. Starter is a small piece of column which is cast ed before the main column . It helps in placing of column box. Location= Varthur Date=03-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day 4 Pedestal It is a long thin column that carry load or support a column and transfer to footing. Length at least lateral dimension less than 3. The height of a Pedestal is used in this is 50 cm. Location= varthur Date =04-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day 5-6 Plinth Beam The Formwork will define the shape and dimension of the plinth beam. This reinforcement provides strength and support to the concrete. Once the reinforcement is in place ,pour the concrete mixture into the work . After pouring the concrete ,level the surface using a trowel to achieve a smooth finish. Fig : Plinth Beam Location = hoskote Date =05-03-2024 to 06-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day7-9 Two way slab The two-way slab is a slab which is generally supported on all sides of walls or beams, and whose length to breadth ratio is less than 2. Length of slab is 115 ft & width is 95 ft. It’s bends in both directs. Shape look like dish Two slab supports beams on all four sides. Location = hoskote Date =07-03-2024 to 09-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day 10-12 REINFORCEMENT OF STAIR CASE Wooden or metal forms are used to create the shape of the staircase . Steel bars are often added within the formwork to reinforce the concrete and provide additional strength . Once the form work and reinforcement are in place ,concrete is poured into the molds . After the concrete has been poured ,it is levelled and smoothed to create a uniform surface. once the concrete has cured sufficiently ,the formwork is removed carefully to reveal the finished staircase. Location = Hirandahalli Date=10-03-2024 to12-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day-13 Bar Bending It is a technique used to reinforce columns and RCC slab. It can improve the performance of columns during earth quakes. It’s also adds strength and load bearing capacity to Columns and slab. Location = Hirandahalli Date =13-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day 14-16 Form Work Form work is a temporary. Structure made up of wood or steel that helps to holds wet concrete until it dries. The form work boarding is removed when the concrete dries. Location = Hirandahalli D ate=14-03-2024 to 16-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day -17 Stirrups This stirrups keeps rods together. This helps to handle the shaking caused by earthquakes. Location = Hirandahalli Date =17-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day 18-19 COLUMN FORMWORK AND CASTING It is a temporary work. Structure made up of steel that holds wet concrete until it dries. For any casting form work is the must, for these types of works there is another set of people who will do this work. Form work is used for the columns are steel form work, which can be reused for another construction. Mixing of concrete is RMC Trunk mixing. Location= Varthur Date=18-03-2024 to 19-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day -20 Columns Formwork & Casting Columns Columns are structural elements that support the weight of a ceiling ,beams.. e tc., It supporting beams. It supports slab. It resist lateral loads for the slabs. Location= Varthur date =20-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day21-23 -Block Work Marking must do carefully because, if there is any small mistake it has to re constructed or have to be made adjustments. By making the reference of the thread the wall has been constructed. For making a straight-line thread have been tied from face to back of the slab. The width of the wall is 8 inches and length of each wall of 12feet. The thickness of cement mortar between the blocks was 1 inch for both horizontal and vertical direction. Location = hirandahalli Date =21-03-2024 to 23-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering By leaving the window space the blocks must construct on either side. The level of blocks is checked by using levelling tube. Helper will mix the cement mortar and handle the transferring of the blocks. Block work at back of slab
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering The bond between the blocks is English bond. The levelling of block is done with plumb bob. The grooves are made on each course for good appearance and a grip for plastering work.
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering Day24-25 CURING Curing is the process of maintain satisfactory temperature and moisture condition in concrete long enough for hydration to develop the desired concrete properties. The sprinkling method is used to cure the walls and the concrete work. The curing is done for 2 times a day. The gunny bags are used to cure the columns and beams. Location = hirandahalli Date =24-03-2024 to 25-03-2024
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering CURING The curing for slab is done in ponding method. The total slab is been divided into small unequal parts and each part is been constructed with little raise cement mortar boundaries. These boundaries will prevent the water from runoff down from concrete.
www.cambridge.edu.in Department of Civil Engineering DAY 26-27 REINFORCEMENT FOR SLAB The bar bending schedule has been prepared before starting of the steel work. The height of beam is 1 foot but the length is been varying from beam to beam. The reinforcement on slab is of mat type reinforcement. The spacing between the main reinforcement and distribution steel is varied from 6, 8 and 10 inches for different areas. Before placing of the reinforcement, the form work is done before day only. Location = hoskote Date =26-03-2024 to 27-03-2024
DAY 28 CONCRETING FOR SLAB Construct formwork to define the shape and dimension of the slab. Once the formwork and reinforcement are in place ,concrete can be poured into the mold . After pouring , use screed to level the surface of the concrete. Once the concrete has cured sufficiently , the formwork can be removed carefully to avoid damaging the slab.
