Circulatory system A network that transport oxygen, nutrients, hormones and etc throughout our body
Blood Body fluids in humans and other animals that delivers necessary subtances such as nutrients and oxygen to the cells and transport waste products away from those same cell
Function of blood Transport gases, waste ,nutrients , hormones Prevents blood loss during injury Defense against pathogens and toxin Regulating body temperature
Hataraku saibou Cells at work
Red blood cells ( erythrocytes) Carry 02 from the lungs to the body tissues and co2 ( waste) , away from the tissues and back to the lungs Red blood cells are made in the bone marrow
White blood cells ( leukocytes ) Wbc are the cells of the immune system that are involve in protecting the body against both infectious disease and foreign invaders Leukemia is a type of blood cancer caused by a rise in the number of white blood cells in your body. Those wbc crowed out the the rbc and platelets that your body needs to be healthy . The extra wbc don’t work right. When you have leukemia , your body makes more white cells than it needs Those leukemia cells cant fight infection the way normal wbc do. And because there are so many of them . They start to affect the way your organs work. Cbc ( complete blood count )
Plasma Blood plasma is a yellowish liquid component of blood that normally holds the blood cells in whole blood suspension . It makes up about 55% of the body total blood volume Glucose Hormones Salts Water 90% Lipids ( fats / oil )
Arteries Carry the blood away from the heart to the body Contains the oxygenated blood Bright red Higher pressure Deep inside the body
Veins Carry blood from the body towards the heart Blood contains co2 and waste Dark red Closer to the skin Venous valves to prevent backflow Closer to the skin Hypovomelic shock
The heart 4 chambers 1.Left atrium 2. Right atrium 3. Right ventricle 4. Left ventricle
Atrium – receiving area of blood Ventricle – pumping chamber SUPERIOR VENA CAVA Delivers blood from upper parts of the body INFERIOR VENA CAVA Delivers blood from lower parts of the body AORTA ( artery ) The largest vessel in the body
RIGHT VENTRICLE – sends blood into the PULMONARY TRUNK ( which goes to the lungs ) LEFT VENTRICLE – sends blood into the AORTA VALVE – unidirectional of the blood ( they keeping the blood into right direction )- prevent backflow of the blood leaving the ventricle
