3. Habitat: Live on land Some are aquatic

4. Feathers: body is covered externally with feathers.

5. Wings: their fore limbs are modified to form wings.

6. Hollow bones: their bones are hollow and light so that they can easily fly .

7. Toothless mouth: their mouth is toothless and their jaws prolonged into beak.

8. Sound box : There is a sound box present at the base of their neck produces melodious voice called syrinx . Like:

9. Eggs: They laid their legs on land into their nest which are covered by hard shell.

10. Respiration: They respire by lungs.

11. Warm blooded: They are called warm blooded because they maintain their body temperature.

12. Kinds: classified into two kinds. flying birds. Running birds (flightless birds).
