Effective classroom management is the use of
techniques and skills to create a learning environment that is
conductive to student success.
“Classroom management is the ability to manage time,
space, resources, and student roles and behavioursto
encourage learning” (Alberto & Troutman, 1986).

WHAT IS CLASSROOM ASSESSMENT?
Assessmentis a process that is used to keep track of learners’
progress in relation to learning standards and in the development of
the 21

accountability among students about their own learning; and to
provide basis for profiling of student performance on the learning
competencies and standards of the curriculum.
“The classroom assessment is regarded as a process in which
teachers and students attain, use, and evaluate the information and
evidence of students’ learning for various purposes”(McMillan, 2013).

CONCLUSION
Classroom management is a critical aspect of effective teaching and
learning. By creating a structured, respectful, and supportive environment,
teachers can foster positive behaviours, increase student engagement,
and promote academic success. Additionally, effective classroom
management allows teachers to focus on delivering quality instruction,
while students are given the opportunity to thrive and reach their full
potential. Successful classroom management is not just about discipline
but creating an atmosphere where students feel motivated, valued, and
capable of learning.
While on the other hand, classroom assessment is a vital tool for both
teachers and students, providing insights into student learning and
guiding instructional decisions. It helps teachers understand the
effectiveness of their teaching, identify learning gaps, and offer timely
feedback to students. Moreover, assessments foster a sense of
responsibility in students, encouraging reflection and continuous
improvement.
