Abstract In a world increasingly focused on sustainability, understanding the contents and sentiments within annual sustainability reports of organizations becomes imperative. This study proposes a novel approach leveraging natural language processing (NLP) techniques to analyze and distill key insights from these reports. By combining sentence similarity analysis and sentiment analysis, we aim to uncover thematic practices, trends, and the balance of positive and negative information across various companies' reports. Goal The goal of this study is to provide actionable insights into the content and sentiment of sustainability reports, enabling organizations to enhance transparency, communication, and strategic decision-making. By identifying emerging themes and patterns, we aim to facilitate more effective reporting and contribute to the advancement of sustainable development practices.
