How do living things produce their own kind? Living things produce their own kind through the process of reproduction.
In human beings, what are the signs that a woman is already capable of bearing aa child? Menstruation Appearance of pubic hairs Enlargement of the breast. Values Integration: Become open-minded.
Being open-minded and sensitive in discussing menstruation and the appearance of pubic hair is crucial to: promoting understanding and reducing stigma surrounding these natural bodily processes. Approaching discussions about menstruation and pubic hair with openness, empathy, and respect for individual experiences can help promote understanding and reduce stigma surrounding these natural aspects of human biology. It's essential to create a supportive environment where people feel comfortable discussing these topics without fear of judgment or shame.
"So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.'" - Genesis 1: 27-28
Let’s have an Group activity!!!
PARTS AND FUNCTIONS OF THE FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM Objective: Each group, must Draw and identify the parts of the female reproductive system. Describe the functions of the female reproductive system. (For Five Minutes only) Materials: Manila paper, Coloring materials, Marker Procedure: Draw on a short size bond paper the female reproductive system and identify the parts. 2. Write on the table below the functions for each part of the female reproductive system. PART FUNCTION OVARY OVIDUCT UTERUS VAGINA
Presentation of output….
The Female Reproductive System
Functions of Female Reproductive System Produce female sex cells. Receives sperm cell from the male. Nurtures the development of and provides nourishment for new individual.
Female Reproductive System (Parts and its function) Vagina (primary part) – receives the penis of male during mating. Uterus (primary part) - serve as egg implantation - this is where the fertilized egg is develop Ovary (primary part) – produce egg cells Oviduct/fallopian tube -serve as passageway of eggs from the ovary to the uterus. - site of egg fertilization
Female Reproductive System (Parts and its function) Cervix – ”neck of the uterus” - allows the fluid to pass between uterus and vagina - enables the baby too leave the uterus so that it can travel through vagina (childbirth) Vulva– female external genital
Q. Explain how the female reproductive system adapts during pregnancy to support fetal development and maternal health. Answer: Pregnancy triggers profound physiological changes in the female reproductive system to support fetal growth and maternal health. Hormonal shifts, including increased production of estrogen and progesterone, promote uterine expansion, placental development, and maternal adaptations such as breast changes and increased blood volume. Understanding these adaptations is essential for providing prenatal care and managing complications during pregnancy.
Integration to Numeracy Calculating fertility rates involves determining the number of births or pregnancies within a specific population over a certain period. Here's a basic formula and an example: Fertility Rate = (Number of Births / Total Population) x 1000 Let's say we want to calculate the fertility rate for a town with a population of 50, 000 people, and there were 500 births in that town in the past year.
Solution: 1. Identify the given values: Number of births = 500 Total population = 50, 000 2. Plug the values into the formula: - Fertility Rate = ( 500 / 50, 000 ) x 1000 3. Calculate: - Fertility Rate = ( 0.01 ) x 1000 - Fertility Rate = 10 4. Interpretation: - The fertility rate for the town is 10 births per 1000 people. This means that, on average, there were 10 births per 1000 individuals in the population during the specified period.
Integration to Health What would be the possible result if we don’t take good care our female reproductive system/organs? Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are caused by bacteria, usually Escherichia coli (E. coli), that enter the urinary tract and multiply, leading to infection. 1 . Causes: Bacterial Entry: Bacteria can enter the urinary tract through the urethra and travel upwards, infecting the bladder (cystitis), ureters, or kidneys (pyelonephritis). Sexual Activity: Sexual intercourse can introduce bacteria into the urinary tract, increasing the risk of infection, particularly in women. Immune System Weakness: Conditions that weaken the immune system, such as diabetes or HIV/AIDS, can make individuals more susceptible to UTIs.
2. Consequences: - Pain and Discomfort: UTIs often cause symptoms such as burning during urination, frequent urination, pelvic pain, and cloudy or bloody urine. Complications : If left untreated, UTIs can lead to more severe infections, such as kidney infections, which may result in fever, back pain, nausea, and even sepsis if bacteria enter the bloodstream. - Impact on Daily Life: UTIs can interfere with daily activities, work, and social life due to discomfort and the need for frequent bathroom trips. Cost and Healthcare Burden: UTIs contribute to healthcare costs due to doctor visits, diagnostic tests, and antibiotic treatments, placing a burden on healthcare systems.
3 . Undesirable Activities : - Poor Hygiene Practices: Not practicing good hygiene, such as wiping from back to front after using the toilet, can introduce bacteria into the urinary tract. -Holding Urine: Delaying urination for prolonged periods allows bacteria to multiply in the bladder, increasing the risk of infection. Dehydration: Inadequate fluid intake can concentrate urine, making it more acidic and conducive to bacterial growth. Cancer (cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, vulvar) HIV
The female reproductive system produces egg cells which is an important part of reproduction to produce an offspring. REMEMBER !!!
Lets try it out!!! The students will be given a question and let them answer it.
What is the primary organ of the female reproductive system? Answer: VAGINA
What part of the female reproductive system where sperm and egg cell unite? Answer: UTERUS
In what part of the female reproductive system where the zygote implants and develops? Answer: FALLOPIAN TUBE/ OVIDUCT
What is the function of the vagina? Answer: Receives the male penis during mating.
How about the cervix? How does it function in reproduction? Answer: It allows the fluid to pass between uterus and vagina. During childbirth, it expands so that the child is able to go through the vagina.
Are you ready for the quiz???
Assignment: Direction: Read and answer the following question carefully. 5 points each. (Notebook) What is the importance of reproductive system? 2. Give at least 5 ways to avoid infections and irritations of the female reproductive organ.
THANK YOU !!!!

WHAT TO DO….. Group 1: This group will be task to draw the Female Reproductive System. Group 2: Group 2 will be task to give the function of every part of the female reproductive system. Group 3: This group will make a graphic organizer and give the exact phase that a sperm cell has to travel from the vagina until it reach to egg cell.
