Douglas MacArthur was born
January 26, 1880
When he graduated from West
Point his the overall average
score was over 98

World War I
He became Chief of Staff
of the 42nd Infantry
Division.
He was appointed a
Brigadier General in the
National Army .

Between the wars
Becomes the Superintendent of
the U.S. Military Academy, West
Point
January 1925, he promoted to
Major General, becoming the
youngest two-star general in the
U.S
December 1937, he decides to
retire from the United States Army

World War II
July 1941, he was recalled to active
service in the United States Army as a
Major General
March 1942, Roosevelt ordered him to
leave the Philippines and he promised "I
came out of Bataan and I shallreturn."
1942,he was appointed Supreme Allied
Commander, South West Pacific Area
December 1944, he promoted to the
newly created rank of five star General of
the Army
February 1945,he fulfilled his promise to
returned and liberated Manila

Japanese surrender

Korean War
July 1950, the invasion of North Korea
into South Korea
September 1950 ,led UN forces at the
Battle of Inchon and won the battle
April 1951, he several public the
criticisms about the president Harry S.
Truman and he was dismissed by the
president
April 19, 1951. He gave his famous
"Old Soldiers Never Die“ speech
