Community Water Access Through Rainwater Harvesting

S M Sehgal Foundation, in partnership with VARUN BEVERAGES LIMITED through its CSR arm, is implementing a project in Hatti village, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (erstwhile Aurangabad), to improve access to safe drinking water and strengthen local water security.

The initiative will directly benefit over 4,300 community members through a set of targeted interventions. These include the construction of two check dams, contour trenches, and 20 recharge wells to replenish groundwater, as well as the establishment of a community drinking water station and the installation of a rooftop rainwater harvesting system in a village school.

Collectively, these efforts will create more than 26.5 million liters of water storage capacity, ensuring reliable access to water today while ensuring long-term community resilience.
