Network Infrastructure Design Proposal for a Hotel

Introduction: FTC has been entrusted with the vital task of designing and implementing the
network infrastructure for a new five-floor hotel. Our goal is to ensure seamless internet access
and optimal network performance across all departments and floors, catering to the diverse needs
of the hotel's operations.

Main Departments:

1. First Floor:
 Reception
 Store
 Logistics
2. Second Floor:
 Finance
 Human Resources (HR)
 Sales/Marketing
3. Third Floor:
 IT
 Administration
4. Fourth and Fifth Floors:
 Operations
 Guest Services

Network Design Specifications:

1. Fortinet Firewall Deployment:
 Two Fortinet firewalls for redundancy, serving as routers for DHCP services and
implementing robust security policies.
2. Switch Deployment:
 Five Cisco Switches per floor, strategically positioned and interconnected with fiber
optic connectivity to the IT department's core room.
3. Wireless Network Integration:
 Establishment of WiFi networks on each floor to provide convenient internet access
for guests and staff.
4. Printer Provisioning:
 Provisioning of dedicated printers for each department to facilitate efficient
document printing.

5. VLAN Configuration:
 VLAN assignment for each department with distinct IP subnets for network
segmentation and security.
VLAN and IP Subnetting Plan:
 1st Floor:
 Reception: VLAN 80, 192.168.8.0/24
 Store: VLAN 70, 192.168.7.0/24
 Logistics: VLAN 60, 192.168.6.0/24
 2nd Floor:
 Finance: VLAN 50, 192.168.5.0/24
 HR: VLAN 40, 192.168.4.0/24
 Sales: VLAN 30, 192.168.3.0/24
 3rd Floor:
 Admin: VLAN 20, 192.168.2.0/24
 IT: VLAN 10, 192.168.1.0/24
 4th Floor:
 Operational: VLAN 80, 192.168.9.0/24
 5th Floor:
 Guest and Other Services: VLAN 90, 192.168.10.0/24

Additional Configurations:
1. Dynamic IP Address Assignment.
2. SSH Configuration for Remote switches Access.
3. Port Security Configuration.
4. Inter-Device Communication.
5. Testing Setup in IT Department.
6. Hierarchical Network Design.
7. VLANs and Port Assignments.
8. Subnetting and IP Addressing.
9. EtherChannel in Cisco Switches
10. Link Aggregation and Redundancy in Fortinet Firewalls
11. Inter-VLAN Routing Configuration.

Network Topology: The network topology consists of dual Fortinet firewalls, redundant Cisco
switches, routers, access points, printers, and computer systems, strategically deployed across the
hotel's premises to ensure seamless connectivity and operational efficiency.
This comprehensive network infrastructure design aims to meet the hotel's requirements for
reliable internet access, secure communication, and efficient data management, laying the
foundation for seamless operations and enhanced guest experiences.
