KLE SOCIETY’S P. C. JABIN SCIENCE COLLEGE AUTONOMOUS AFFILIATED TO KARNATAK UNIVERSITY DHARWAD APPROVED BY UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION, NEW DELHI AND GOVERNMENT OF KARNATAKA Accredited at ‘A++’ Grade with 3.54 CGPA by NAAC “COMPUTER LAB TRACK” Under Guidance of Mr. Vikas Tuwar HOD , Assistant Professor Submitted by: Shreya Pattar – 122MCs0453

Aim To develop a centralized and automated Computer Lab Management System that efficiently handles the borrowing, returning, tracking, and maintenance of lab resources while ensuring secure, role-based access for administrators, staff, and students .

Introduction computer labs are essential for supporting academic activities, practical learning, and research. However, manual management often results in inefficiencies, data loss, and difficulty tracking equipment usage.

Introduction The Computer Lab track addresses these issues by offering a digital, organized solution for managing lab operations in colleges. It enables efficient tracking and management of all lab resources, including computers, accessories, and peripheral devices. The system integrates multiple functions such as borrower tracking, damage reporting, inventory categorization, record maintenance, and user access management

Proposed System Centralized and automated item tracking. Admin panel, role-based access, inventory management. User-friendly UI and activity logging.

Modules Overview Borrower Management Damage Reporting Item and Category Management Inventory & User Control Return Tracking

Hardware & Software Requirements Minimum: Dual-Core 2.0 GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD/SSD OS: Windows 10/Linux, Browser: Chrome Dev Tools: XAMPP/WAMP, PHP, MySQL

Tools & Technologies Used Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap Backend: PHP Database: MySQL Development Tools: XAMPP, Sublime Text

Scope of Study Supports equipment tracking, borrowing, and returns. Provides user and item categorization. Integrates with college systems and supports scalability.

Working Users (Admin, Staff, Students) log in through a secure portal. Borrowers request and return lab items; system updates inventory in real time. Admin manages users, items, categories, and damage reports. Damage reports are logged and reviewed for action. All data is stored and retrieved using PHP and MySQL. The system ensures role-based access, accurate tracking, and smooth operations.

Applications Educational Institutions: For managing lab equipment in colleges and universities. Computer Labs: To track borrowing, returning, and maintenance of devices. Technical Departments: For role-based access and monitoring of IT resources. Inventory Management: Keeps real-time updates of lab items and categories. Damage Monitoring: Logs and tracks damaged equipment for timely repairs. User Activity Tracking: Maintains clear records of student and staff interactions .

Limitations No real-time notifications. Supports single-lab only. Lacks advanced security features.

Future Enhancements Add SMS/email alerts. Multi-lab and multi-department support. Barcode scanning, new user roles.

Conclusion Streamlines lab management. Improves accountability and reduces errors. User-friendly and efficient platform.
