Light is a form of energy which is emitted by a
luminous body and when incident on the eye
causes the sensation of light.

3. CHARACTERISTICS OF LIGHT
RAYS
Light is a form of energy which always travels with
maximum velocity.
Light travels in straight.
When light rays fall on smooth reflecting surfaces,
angle of incidence is equal to angle of reflection .
Light undergoes the phenomenon of reflection,
refraction, total internal reflection, interference,
dispersion, diffraction and polarization.
Light undergoes the phenomenon of
scattering,discovered by C.V.Raman.

4. CONCAVE MIRROR
If the convex surface of a
spherical mirror is silvered
then the concave surface acts
as a reflectingsurface and it is
called concave mirror.

11. USES OF CONCAVE MIRROR
Concave mirror is used as a
reflector in head lights of
vehicles.
Dentists & ENT specialists
use concave mirrors to see
small inner parts of throat ,
nose etc.
It is used as shaving mirror.
Concave mirrors are used
in telescopes
