Concept Note: TND FLECKVIEH
COW LIMITED Capacity Building
Program

Introduction:
•TND FLECKVIEH COW LIMITED is pleased to present a
capacity-building program aimed at revolutionizing livestock
farming in Kenya.
•The initiative, named "The BRIDGE," is a Public-Private
Partnership Program (PPPP) focused on intensive Zero Grazing
livestock farming.
•The cornerstone of this program is the provision of 105,000
Fleckviehcows to be distributed equally across all 47 counties in
Kenya.

Objective:
•The primary goal of The BRIDGE is to empower communities
through a cooperative model, offering employment, health
benefits, and food security.
•By creating groups of ten people registered in a polling station,
each owning a Fleckviehcow, the program envisions shared
proceeds from milk and other value-added products.
•This model seeks to eradicate poverty or hunger, disease and
Ignorance in Kenya.

Implementation Strategy:
1.Distribution of Cows: The
105,000 Fleckvieh cows will be
equally shared among the 47
counties, with each county forming
groups of 10 individuals registered in
all its polling stations.

Implementation Strategy:
2. Group Formation: Each group member pays a registration fee
of Ksh1240 and a monthly service charge of Ksh20. This financial
This financial commitment gives the members 12% shares in the
shares in the Holding Company for them to have a say in the

Implementation Strategy:
3.Continuous Reproduction: After two
years, the initial 2234 cows in each
each county become surrogates,
perpetuating the cycle until every Kenyan
Kenyan owns a Productive cow.

Partnership Details: The consortium
investment includes:
•Provision of 105,000 surrogate cows
•Intensive farming on an extensive scale
•Engine output up to 700 horsepower
•Deep well impeller pumps set at up to 200 meters
•3-year crop rotation: 2 years in Alfalfa followed by 1 year in
Maize
•Agronomist monitoring, integrated crop management, and
a detailed budget plan.

Sharing Structure:
The sharing structure promotes fairness and inclusivity, with locals
holding significant shares:
•12% for Initiators
•12% for Support Teams
•48% for Group Members
•24% for the International Consortium
Additionally, there are provisions for the necessary processes and
plans, such as 1.0% for Marketing, 1.5% for Salaries, and 1.5% for
Overheads.

Ownership and Membership
Guarantee:
•Members of TND FLECKVIEH COW LIMITED, including
local communities and international partners, will
serve as consumers by purchasing the milk in
supermarkets.
•The exceptional quality of the milk, boasting a Total
Bacterial Count (TBC) less than 1000, not only ensures
health benefits but also positions the product for a
global market

Ownership Shares:
•Contributors to the project will have ownership
shares in the cows.
•The consortium will manage and look after the
cows on behalf of the contributors, ensuring
proper care and optimal productivity.
•This model promotes a sense of ownership and
responsibility among the members.

Requirements from TND
FLECKVIEH COW LIMITED:
•Government Support is key
since Livestock is under the
Ministry of Agriculture and
Livestock Development.

Current Crisis:
•The current stagnation in agricultural
productivity poses a threat to Kenya's food
security.
•The population growth exacerbates the
situation, creating a looming crisis with
implications such as malnutrition, stunted
growth, human-wildlife conflict, and
insecurity.

Proposed Solution:
•The "One Cow Per Group of Ten" program
aims to address this crisis by providing
employment, and health benefits, and
boosting food security for disadvantaged
groups.
•The program is designed to decrease
poverty rates and improve livelihoods.

Benefits of the Program:
•The program is estimated to
benefit over 3 million groups by
2030, providing employment
opportunities to over 45 million
Kenyans and generating revenue
of Kes 600 billion annually.

The Fleckvieh Breed:
•The chosen Fleckviehbreed is known for its
durability, ease of handling, disease resistance,
and high-quality milk and beef production.
•The merits of Fleckviehover other breeds
include higher milk quality, higher calf prices,
excellent fertility, and strong "easy handling"
characteristics.

Time Frame and Scope:
•The initial capacity-building
program is set for 36 months,
covering all 47 counties in
Kenya.

Expected Outcome:
•Community groups are expected to gain
the capacity to translate training programs,
develop entrepreneurship campaigns, and
engage in employment initiatives.
•The ultimate outcome is improved
livelihoods, food security, and poverty
eradication.

Conclusion:
•TND FLECKVIEH COW LIMITED invites potential
partners to join hands in this transformative
initiative. The BRIDGE offers a sustainable
solution to Kenya's agricultural challenges,
promising economic empowerment, food
security, and a brighter future for its citizens.
Together, we can build a resilient and
prosperous nation.
