Introduction
Conditional Sentences in Indonesian means
Kalimat-kalimat bersyarat ( condition = syarat ).
There are 3 types of conditional sentences:
1.Future Conditional Sentences (Type 1)
If you work hard, you will be succesful.
If it doesn’t rain, we will play basketball this
afternoon.
If I had a lot of money, I would buy a new car.
It means I will not buy a car because I don’t
have a lot of money.
If it were not raining, we could play basketball.
It means we can not play basketball because it
is raining.

3. Past Conditional Sentences
(Type 3)
I would have attended the meeting if I had been
invited
It means I didn’t attend the meeting because I was
not invited.
If you had studied hard , you would have passed the
exams.
It means You failed in your exams because you did
not study hard.

Conclusion
1. Future Conditional Sentences is possible to
happen in the future
2. Present and Past Conditional Conditional
Sentences are contrary to the fact ( berlawananan
den9an kenyataan).
3.Present Coditional Sentences are also called
Improbable Conditional Sentences ( masih mun9kin
terjadi, walau kemun9kinannya san9at kecil.
4. Present Conditional Sentences can be used as an
advice ( nasehat ):
If I were you, I would…………………..

If you were working with a computer, you
should blink your eyes more often, so you
won’t have eyestraian.
Artinya jika anda sedan9 bekerja
menggunakan computer, anda
sebaiknya lebih sering
mengedipkan mata supaya mata
anda tidak capek/tegang.

Past Conditional Sentences are also called
impossible conditional Sentences ( kalimat
pen9andaian yan9 tidak mun9kin terjadi )
It’s impossible for us to 9o back to
the past.
Kita tidak dapat kembali ke masa
lampau, bukan?

Patterns ( Pola Kalimatnya )
1. Future C.S:
If + S + Verb1, S + will + Verb1
S + will + Verb1, If S + Verb1
2. Present C.S.:
If + S + Verb2, S + would + Verb1
S + Would + Verb1 if S + Verb2.
3. Past C.S. :
If + S + had + verb3, S + Would have + verb3.
S + would have + verb3 if S + had + verb3.
