Lead-In - What do you think is happening in this photo? - Have you ever ridden or seen hot air balloons? - Have you ever visited Luxor? - What can we learn from places like this?

Pre-Reading Activity A heritage is ….. A heritage includes: (Brainstorming) an important part of a country’s identity. Art. Historic buildings. Objects from the past. Things like food, music, and dancing. It comes from ….. the country’s history and traditions. - What comes to your mind when you hear the word “Heritage” ?

Key Vocabulary Identity: Qualities which identify a person. Archaeologist: One who studies ancient cultures through their artifacts . Civilization: Society, culture (of a group of people or a particular place); an advanced stage or system of human social development. Temple: A building for the worship of a god or gods. Monument: A large structure, usually made of stone, which is built to remind people of an event in history or of a famous person. Agriculture Raising of crops and livestock Calendar: A c hart showing the months of a year (including days and weeks).

Reading Activity First Reading “Skimming” Read the text on p. 32 “My Heritage” silently to get the general idea of the text. What is the text about? Read the text again Now answer the questions in exercise 3 individually and exercise 4 in pairs. . Check the answers as a class …..

Review So we talked about heritage and how it’s an important part of a country’s identity. We also mentioned some of the Ancient Egyptian monuments and how archaeologist have learned about the civilization of Ancient Egypt . Homework Write a paragraph of (40) words about a historical site you visited or an Egyptian cultural tradition.
