While constructing curriculum of science , we should include those activities which are based on philosophy. There are four main philosophy for curriculum construction :- 1. Realism 2. Idealism 3. Naturalism 4. Pragmatism Philosophical Bases

Realism : It includes those activities in curriculum through which knowledge can be obtained in real situation of life. Realistic curriculum is developed according to utility and needs. Philosophical Bases

Topical arrangement means that a topic should be finished entirely at one stage. Topical method requires that easy and difficult portions of a topic should be dealt with one stage only which is not psychological. It take topic as a unit. Topical Method

The main defect in the topical method is that it introduces the large mass of irrelevant material in curriculum. Topical methods demands that a topic once taken should be finished in its entirely, so that this is not more useful for lower classes. In this system the topic which is dealt with earlier receives, no attention later and so there is every likelihood of its being forgotten. Topical Method

The spiral method is a technique often used in teaching where first the basic facts of a subject are learned, without worrying about details. Then as learning progresses, more and more detail are introduced. It provides the opportunities for revision. Spiral Method

Spiral method of curriculum organization is based on the principle that a subject can not be given an exhaustive treatment at the first stage. This method demands t he division of the topic or the subject into a number of smaller independent units to be dealt with in order of difficulty suiting the mental capacities of the pupils To begin with, a simple presentation of the subject-matter is given, gaps are filled in the following year and more gaps a year or two later.
