Continuing education is an educational activity ,primarily designated to keep the registered nurses abreast of their particular field of interest & do not lead to any formal advanced standing in the profession. Continuing education is all learning activities that occurs after an individual has completed his basic education. DEFINITION

4. The term continuing education implies that education is a life long process. Another important aspect is that it does not take place in a classroom or in an institutional or formal way alone. Continuing education is a planned activity directed towards meeting the learning needs of the nurse following basic education. CONCEPT
