Continuous improvement (CI) is an ongoing process of analyzing organizational performance, identifying opportunities, and making incremental changes to processes, products and people to deliver better outcomes. Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) is among the most widely used tools in a  continuous improvement program  model wherein is Plan is to identify an opportunity and plan for change, Do is to implement the change on a small scale, Check is to analyze the results of change, and Act is to implement the change more broadly and continue to assess the results.
