Objectives: At the end of 2 hours TLE period, 80% of the students should be able to achieve at least 75% level of success on the following: Identify the different ingredients in making sandwiches. Create a simple recipe for sandwich. Prepare and present pinwheel sandwiches. Follow sanitary practices in preparing a sandwich; and Value the importance of gender equality in preparing of simple sandwich by expressing their dedication on their work.

All over the world, people are enjoying sandwiches, whether it is hot sandwich or cold sandwich. In making sandwiches, you need to prepare several ingredients to have a good quality products. We also need to prepare sandwiches by following the right steps and following the sanitary practices in the kitchen to prepare safe and nutritious food.

1. Perform mise en place. 2. Assemble bread and toppings/ spread. 3. Remove the crusts from the bread.

4. Flatten pieces of bread with rolling pin. Roll once or twice. 5. Spread or place toppings on each slice of bread. 6. With two hands, roll up each slice to create the pinwheel.

7. Insert a toothpick if it won’t stay rolled together on its own. 8. Wrap tightly in either plastic wrap or grease proof paper and refrigerate.

9. Slice them ½ inch thick and fasten with toothpicks before serving on platters with pieces of fruit or salad vegetables artfully displayed. 10. Practice CLAYGO!

STEPS IN PREPARING TEA SANDWHICH

1. Prepare all the materials and ingredients needed. 2. In a bowl, mix the mashed sweet potato, diced eggs and mayonnaise. 3. Season with salt and pepper.

4. Spread the mixture on one slice of bread them top with the other. 5. Cut off the crust then cut the sandwich at the center to produce four square slices. 6. Garnish and serve. 7. Practice CLAYGO!

A. RECIPE WRITTING Make your own signature tea sandwich recipe. List down the specific ingredients that you will be using such as bread, spread and fillings. Indicate the steps or procedure in making this localized signature sandwich. You will be graded according to the given criteria in the rubrics. This recipe will be performed at home then create a video sandwich presentation, then submit it on February 29, 2024.

The students’ work on Recipe Writing is evaluated using the scoring rubric below. RUBRICS CRITERIA 3 2 1 Title of the recipe The students use catchy recipe name. The students give its recipe name but not catchy. The students did not give its recipe name. Ingredients and materials The student indicates all ingredients and materials needed for the recipe. The student miss some of the ingredients and materials needed for the recipe. The student indicates 1 ingredient and 1 material only. Procedure The student gave a clear and complete steps/procedure in making the sandwich. The student gave an incomplete steps/procedure in making the sandwich. The students gave vague and incomplete steps/procedure in making the sandwich.

B. Using the flow chart, arrange the jumbled steps in preparing tea sandwiches.

Group the learners into 3, each group will have a return demonstration on how to prepare pinwheel sandwich correctly using the available ingredients. Learners will prepare sandwich following the sanitary practices in preparing sandwich. Learners Performance task is evaluated using the scoring rubric below.

Assignment: Create a Sandwich Recipe Video Students will create a video demonstrating the preparation of their signature sandwich recipe written on their Recipe card emphasizing the importance of gender equality in the culinary industry.
