1. Course Utility By studying this course, students are expected to know and understand about the basic theory of interpreting, kind of
interpreting and principle of interpreting
2. Course Description Mata kuliah ini membahas tentang teori –teori dan latihan latihan penterjemahan teks secara lisan pada acara-acara
tertentu seperti seminar internasional, konfrensi internasional, jumpa pers internasional dan mengalih bahasa komunikasi
pejabat Negara

After following this course, the students are able to interpret.
Basic Competence
At the end of the course,:
1. Students understand about the concept of interpreting
2. Students are able to interpret any kinds of oral text
4. Course Topics 1. A brief history of interpreting: understanding interpretation and translation
2. Interpreting process
3. The different types of interpreting
4. Hints for speaker at conference
5. Community, court and medical interpreting
6. Code of ethic and qualification
7. Speaking and preparation/anticipating the speaker
8. Complex syntax, Word order/cluster, General adverbial clause
9. untranslatability, figure of speech, and argumentation
10. diction/ register, formal style
11. A policy address
12. Quotation/ allusion/ transposition
13. political discourse, economical discourse

assignment.

Assignment -4: Role play about Speaking and preparation/anticipating the speaker ( meeting -9)
Assignment -5: Role play about economical discourse interpretation ( meeting -15)

Group Assignment :
For the group who present the material on the day should make a paper about selected materials and present it in front
of the class in form of Ms. Power Point ( Pdf)

9. Norms Academic
a. Learning process starts on time on the schedule Students are permitted to come late just 10 minutes
b. Students’ attendance in learning process should be 80 % (13 meetings )
c. Collecting the assignment must be in its schedule.
d. Students who cheat in making their assignment; their assignment will not accepted
e. Students should use polite language when speaking orally or verbally to the lecturer and others students
f. Be polite during learning process
