ILOs (Intended Learning Outcomes) To use and apply the previous skills to: Critically evaluate recent research on reading and writing in a second language and apply this to classroom practice. To evaluate and apply techniques for teaching reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary. To compare and contrast the challenges of teaching English to young and adult learners . To analyze and evaluate techniques used in error correction .
Unit Structure We meet once a week. Each class is 3hours .

Classroom Coursework Submission Task sheets on E-Learning area will explain exactly how to submit assignments. Task sheets will carry details about task requirements , the deadline date and information about how to receive the essential feedback on the work. Lecturers cannot grant an extension on an assignment
Classroom Policies Mitigating Circumstances Late work without formal agreement is not accepted, and will be deemed a fail and marked at 0 (no work submitted).
Classroom Policies Research paper will NOT be accepted in case of Academic Offences/ Plagiarism Penalties for students found to have committed an academic offence may include failure in a unit or an element of a unit which may mean that s/he has to repeat the unit and bear the associated financial cost.
Classroom Policies Academic Honesty Policy It is expected that students are the sole authors of their work. Quotations must be placed properly within quotation marks and must be fully and properly cited in accordance with a referencing style. All paraphrased or summarized material must be acknowledged completely.

Classroom Policies Attendance Requirements Students who fail to attend 75% of all lectures and tutorials for a certain course are deprived from the final exam and automatically fail the course. The maximum number of absences allowed for any student is 9 times including all lectures and tutorials. This includes absences for medical reasons and emergencies .
