“In
academic matters, mutual responsibility between participants, faculty, administrators and staff, requires cooperation and trust

maintaining the details and spirit of the (Higher Technological Institute) HTI Code of Academic Ethics. This ensures that a high level
of
integrity and honesty will be maintained within the academic programs.
Participants in Academic Writing course will be responsible for:
1.Knowing
and complying with the HTI Code of Academic Ethic
2.Signing
the HTI Code of Academic Ethics Agreement upon admission to Academic Writing Course.
3.Upholding
the highest standards of academic integrity in all of the participant’s own work in the Academic Writing
Course.
4.Upholding
the highest standards of academic integrity by refusing to tolerate violations of the HTI Code of Academic
Ethics
as specified in the Definition of Standards in this document.
5.Respecting
the rights of others, which includes the obligation to refrain from behavior that violates or adversely affects
the
rights of other members of the HTI community.
B.Late Assignments Submission Policy
For learning to be effective, it is important that you budget your time carefully. Participants must respect deadlines and hand in their
work on time. Late submissions will have a negative effect on your grades. In case of late submissions, 1 point will be deducted for
AW 1
each day, up to five days. If you encounter any problems to meet deadlines or submission dates– you must communicate this with me
well in advance (by email), at the very latest, one day in advance.

Please note that class participation is important. This is not a lecture course and student involvement will be critical to providing the
context and realism needed to make this a meaningful learning experience for everyone.

No late or emailed assignments will be accepted.
Make sure your document is “double-spaced”, Time New Romans, 12p. Please follow APA style when using citations.
You should stick to the word limit and the format agreed upon in the syllabus.
Make sure to proofread carefully as grammar and spelling errors will impact the grading. More importantly, grammar and
spelling errors are indications of superficial work and distract any reader from your ideas.
Proper in-text citation and referencing/bibliography at the end.
Refrain from plagiarizing any of your work.
C- Assignments overview and Grading:
Regular Writing Assignments: There will be regular writing assignments throughout the semester, focusing on different
aspects of academic writing. These assignments may include summaries, essays, research proposals, and literature reviews.
Participation: Active participation in class discussions, workshops, and peer reviews is essential.
Final Project: Students will complete a final research paper or project that demonstrates their mastery of the course material.
Grading Rubric:
A detailed grading rubric will be provided for each assignment, outlining the criteria for evaluation. The rubric will typically focus on
elements such as:
Thesis development and argument clarity
Quality of evidence and research
Organization and structure
Style and mechanics
Citation and referencing accuracy
Late Submissions:
As stated earlier, late submissions will be penalized by a designated percentage per day unless prior arrangements are made with the
instructor due to documented emergencies.

As explained, the course adheres to the university's policy on academic integrity. Plagiarism and any form of cheating will not be
tolerated. Students are expected to cite sources appropriately and complete all assignments independently unless otherwise stated.

The instructor is available for office hours and can be reached by email for questions or concerns. Students are expected to check their

Technology Use: Laptop use in class may be permitted for note-taking purposes only. Cell phone use and other distractions
are prohibited.

The instructor reserves the right to make minor modifications to the syllabus during the semester. Any changes will be communicated
to students promptly.
