Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994 Section 15: This section imposes a general duty on employers to ensure, so far as is practicable, the safety, health, and welfare of their employees at work. Employers shall ensure all employees, including crane operators, lifting supervisor, are adequately trained and competent to perform their duties safely. This includes ensuring safe lifting operations and adequate supervision. Section 24: It imposes duties on employees to comply with safety instructions and cooperate with their employer in ensuring a safe workplace. Factories and Machinery Act (FMA) 1967 Section 19: This section outlines the general duties of employers to ensure machinery is safe and properly maintained. It applies to all machinery, including those used in lifting operations. Regulation 10, Factories and Machinery (Notification, Certificate of Fitness and Inspection) Regulations 1970: This regulation requires that certain machinery, including lifting equipment, be inspected and certified for fitness by DOSH.
