Cross cultural issues In a global village, HRM play a crucial role in the process of internationalization of business. Globalization has its impact on people management. The management is required to cope up with problems due to cross culture.

Issues in cross culture Cultural shock: An employee posted outside his or her home country will experience confusion, alienation, disorientation and emotional upheaval. Managerial responses: specific behaviors depend upon attitudes managers hold about employees. Decision Making across cultures: there exists cultural differences in decision who is expected to make decisions example: pak vs sweden

Motivation across cultures: motivation theories and approaches are mainly developed in America. Rewards across cultures: employee expectations from their jobs depends on respective cultures. Example: in us individual recognition is most important. in japan high value is given to group recognition.

Communication across cultures: 1) Different words may mean different things to different people. 2) Communication problem will arise because of alien language and unfamiliar body language.
