Application Of CT-Scan Machine:-
CT(ComputedTomography)scanmachineshavemanyapplicationinmedicaldiagnosisand
treatmentplanning.HerearesomeofthecommonusesofCTscans:
1.Detectinganddiagnosingmedicalconditions:CTscanscanbeusedtodiagnose
manydifferenttypesofconditions,suchascancer,bonefracture,internal
bleeding,bloodclots,infectionsandmore.
2.Monitoringandevaluatingtreatment:CTscanscanbeusedtomonitorthe
progressionofadiseaseoftheeffectivenessoftreatment.
3.Planningandguidingmedicalprocedures:CTscanscanbeusedtoplanandguide
certainmedicalprocedures,suchasbiopsies,surgeries,andradiationtherapy.
4.Screeningformedicalconditions:CTscanscanbeusedinmedicalresearchand
educationtostudytheanatomyandfunctionofthebody.

Types Of Problems Diagnosed By CT-Scan

1.Cancer:CTscanscandetecttumors,andhelptodeterminetheirsize,locationand
whethertheyhavespreadtootherpartsofthebody.
2.Traumaandinjuries:CTscanscanidentifyfractures,internalbleeding,andother
injuriescausedbyaccidentsortrauma.
3.Cardiovasculardisease:CTscanscandiagnoseblockagesinthearteriesthat
supplybloodtotheheart,aswellasstructuralproblemswiththeheartand
surroundingbloodvessels.
4.Neurologicaldisorders:CTscanscandetectabnormalitiesinthebrainorspine,
suchastumors,hemorrhages,orstructuralabnormalities.

Types Of Radiations Used In CT-
Scans:-
1.TheX-raysareaformofionizingradiation,which
meansthattheyhaveenoughenergytoremove
electronsfromatomandmoleculesinthebody.
2.AlthoughtheamountofradiationusedinaCTscansis
relativelyLow,thereissmallriskofradiationexposure,
particularlyforrepeatedscans.
3.Tominimizethisrisk,radiologictechnologistsand
radiologistsfollowestablishedsafetyguidelines,such

otherimagingmethods,suchasMRIorultrasound,
whenpossible.
4.Therearealwayssmallrisksofradiationexposure,as

heartdisease,andinjuries.

Advantages & Disadvantages Of CT-Scans:-
Advantages
1.Detailed images
2.Versatility
3.Speed
4.Non-invasive
5.Pain free
6.Widely available
7.Valuable in emergency situation
Disadvantages
1.Radiation exposure
2.Contrast material risks
3.Costs
4.Limited soft tissue contrast
5.Metal artifacts
