Performance Objective: After completion of this module the trainee will be able to
understand the special qualities and attitudes to be developed by
a Beautician.
Content:


Personality development of a Beautician and it’s importance
• Safeguarding personal hygiene
• Control body odors (e.g. sweat)
• The importance of wearing clean clothes
• Maintenance of oral hygiene
• Care of hair to suit the face
• Skin care and applying suitable makeup

• The entrance and exit of the salon should be facilitated for
easy access of clients.
• The entrance and seating area of the salon should be
cleaned and maintained in attractive manner.
• The information on services provided by saloon (eg:
brochures, leaflets) should be placed near the reception
counter.
• The reception counter should be kept clean and tidy.
• The important equipment and material (e.g.: computer,
credit card machine, receipts books etc.) should be placed
on the reception counter as per the instructions given.
• Product sales counter should be arranged in attractive
manner

Salon working area


• It should be ensured that work area has adequate lighting
and ventilation.
• Routine cleaning and disinfecting of work areas, counters,
basins, chairs, couches and floor should be done.
• Necessary beauty care equipment should be cleaned
/sterilized before using it on another client.
• All linen items should be routinely washed and ironed and
stored.
• Waste should be disposed to minimize potential injury to
staff and clients in an environmentally friendly manner
