Cyber Security Cyber Security is the body of technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect networks, devices, programs, and data from attack, theft, damage, modification or unauthorized access. It’s also known as Information Security (INFOSEC), Information Assurance (IA), or System Security.
Why is Cybersecurity Important? Cybersecurity is essential for protecting our digital assets, including sensitive personal and financial information, intellectual property, and critical infrastructure. Cyberattacks can have serious consequences, including financial loss, reputational damage, and even physical harm. PHISHING KEY LOGGING RANSOMWARE SPAMMING HACKING
Phishing Phishing got its name from “ phish ” meaning fish. It’s a common phenomenon to put bait for the fish to get trapped. Similarly, phishing works. It is an unethical way to dupe the user or victim to click on harmful sites. The attacker crafts the harmful site in such a way that the victim feels it to be an authentic site, thus falling prey to it. The most common mode of phishing is by sending spam emails that appear to be authentic and thus, taking away all credentials from the victim.
Examples of Phishing
Key Logging Keyloggers are built for the act of keystroke logging — creating records of everything you type on a computer or mobile keyboard. These are used to quietly monitor your computer activity while you use your devices as normal.
Hacking Hacking (also called cyber hacking) is the use of unconventional or illicit means to gain unauthorized access to a digital device, computer system or computer network . Hackers are good people who hack devices and systems with good intentions. They might hack a system for a specified purpose or for obtaining more knowledge out of it. Hacker Cracker Crackers are people who hack a system by breaking into it and violating it with some bad intentions.
Spamming Spamming is the use of electronic messaging systems like e-mails and other digital delivery systems and broadcast media to send unwanted bulk messages indiscriminately.
Ransomware Ransomware is a type of a malware that permanently blocks access to the victim's personal data unless a ransom is paid .
