Problem Statement Two of the most common problems with farm irrigation systems have to do with irrigation scheduling. Irrigation scheduling is simply answering the questions of “When do I water?” and “How long do I water?”. Starting an irrigation cycle too early and/or running an irrigation cycle too long is considered over watering. However, overwatering can cause crop damage if done on a prolonged basis.
The primary points that need to be considered while planning for irrigation are Land suitability Effective rainfall Decide when to irrigate (this depends on the soil, crop, and climatic condition) How much water is required by the crop Select the most suitable method to irrigate Quality of the irrigated water
Research and data
Existing Alternatives Surface Irrigation Surface irrigation has been practiced and followed for many years now. In this type of irrigation, either the field is or the water is fed into small channels. Basin Irrigation In this method is primarily used for crops that stand in water for more extended periods, flat lands where rice is grown or in terraces on hillsides. In Basin Irrigation flat areas of land are surrounded by low bunds.
Sprinkler Irrigation System in Agriculture In the sprinkler method of irrigation, water is sprayed into the air and allowed to fall on the ground surface somewhat resembling rainfall. The spray is developed by the flow of water under pressure through small orifices or nozzles. The pressure is usually obtained by pumping. With careful selection of nozzle sizes, operating pressure and sprinkler spacing the amount of irrigation water required to refill the crop root zone can be applied nearly uniform at the rate to suit the infiltration rate of soil
Value Preposition Suitable to all types of soil except heavy clay Suitable for irrigating crops where the plant population per unit area is very high. It is most suitable for oil seeds and other cereal and vegetable crops Water saving Increase in yield Mobility of system Saves land as no bunds etc. are required Areas located at a higher elevation than the source can be irrigated Possibility of using soluble fertilizers and chemicals
Solution - D & N Sprinklers D & N Sprinklers are used to provide smart sprinkler system for the farmers. In the sprinkler method of irrigation, water is sprayed into the air and allowed to fall on the ground surface somewhat resembling rainfall. To make this system smart we use technology to monitor the light and soil moisture. The sprinklers pump water only in the morning and evening. The LDR sensors are used to monitor the light to pump water. Here we use the moisture sensors to help the water pump system. If the soil is already we due to rain or something, the system will not sprinkle water. We make this to reduce the wastage of water in agriculture.

Future Modifications if any To install in the farms and gardens in my village and try to convince the people to use the most convenient method of irrigation system – D & N sprinklers Add the timer based system and use IOT
