Water Tungabadhra , sasalahalla are major perennial rivers in the district There are 411 tanks in the district. Shanthi Sagar , the second largest fresh water lake in Asia is located in Davangere Irrigated Area is 38% of the net sown area Average demand in the district is 94551.15 MLD and average consumption 57808.9 MLD. Power Transmission in the district is being done by Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) Davangere district receives power from Sharavathi Hydro Electric Project and Guttur Station which receives power from Raichur Thermal Power Plant 6 MW Wind Power Project (WPP) at Davangere Average demand in the district is 16491.19 MU and average consumption annually is 308.63 MU. Tourism Sri Harihareswara temple, situated on the bank of the river Tungabhadra at Harihar , the temple has 60 pillars with enchanting carvings. Kalleswara temple of Bagali was built in 9th century AD by the Chalukyas , the temple is famous for its intricate carvings. Eshwara Temple was constructed by King Trubhuvana Malla Parameshwara in 1120 AD, it is famous for the pillars and sculptures built in Chalukya style. Sri Ragavendra Swamy Mutt, situated on the bank of river Tungabhadra at Honnali , is popularly known as second Mantralayam . Sri Chennagiri Rangappa Clock Tower is an attractive tourist spot, the highlight of this place is the height of the clock tower which is 75 feet. Hodigere is a Tomb of King Shri Shahaji father of Chatrapathi Shivaji . Shantisagar is one of the 2nd largest tank in South Asia known for its panoramic view. Ramathritha Pushkarani at Santebennur .
