DEFINITIONS OF TEACHING Teaching is a form of interpersonal influence aimed at changing the behavior potential of another person. ~Gage Teaching refers to activities that are designed and performed to produce in students' behavior. ~Clerk
NATURE AND CHARACTERISTICS OF TEACHING Teaching is a useful interactive process between the student and the teacher. It guides , supports and improves students. Teaching provides information and communication. Teaching enlightens knowledge, awareness to the students cannot find out themselves. Teaching is a process of growth and knowledge. Teaching is an art and it calls for the exercise of talent and creativity. Teaching is a science as it engages a collection of techniques, procedures and skills.
Teaching is a tripolar process . Teaching should be planned properly and the teacher should have clear objectives, methods of teaching and evaluation techniques. Teaching is corrective and the teacher must resolve the learning problems of students. Teaching is kind and understanding and a good teacher develops emotional stability among children. Teaching helps children to make adjustments in life and develops professionalism. Teaching arouses students' power of thinking and directs them toward self learning. Good teaching is independent, gives direction and teacher compliments and encourage the students, give confidence them to asks question, answer questions and discuss things .

TEACHING LEARNING AS A PROCESS Teaching and learning are complex process that involve the interaction between educators, students, content and various instructional methods. Viewing teaching and learning as a process helps educator better understand how knowledge is transmitted, acquired and internalized.
