Introduction 4 Defluoridation of ground water by using tamarind seed as a low cost adsorbents. Groundwater is considered as the major source of drinking water in most places on earth. Usually people use groundwater for drinking and other domestic household purposes such as cooking without any physical or chemical treatment. This is not a healthy practice and may lead to number of health disorders. However, this practice cannot be avoided due to lack of treated piped water supply system in several parts of developing countries. Defluoridation is defined as the removal of excess fluoride from the water in order to reduce the prevalence and severity of dental fluorosis. Fluoride is known to be a natural contaminant for ground water resources globally.
5 Defluoridation of ground water by using tamarind seed as a low cost adsorbents. World health organization (WHO) According to WHO permissible limit for Fluoride for drinking water is: Fluoride concentration of at least 0.6 mg/l is required for human consumption as it will help to have stronger teeth and bones.

9 Defluoridation of ground water by using tamarind seed as a low cost adsorbents. Title Batch sorption system using plaster of Paris as an adsorbent was investigated to remove fluoride ions from aqueous solutions. Author Vinoth Gopal ,K.P. Elango year 2007 Method Batch sorption system Remark The system variables studied include initial concentration of the sorbate, agitation time, adsorbent dose, pH, co-ions and temperature. REVIEW OF LITERATURE
10 Defluoridation of ground water by using tamarind seed as a low cost adsorbents. Title Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part A Author Anthony A. Izuagie , Wilson M. Gitari & Jabulani R. Gumbo year 24 May 2016. Method Advanced Electrochemistry meter fluoride ion-selective electrode. Remark Contact time and temperature change had no significant effect on fluoride removal. At 5 mg/L co-existing anion concentration, reduction in percent F removal was at most 9.2% for PO4 3. A sorbent dosage of 0.6 g/100 mL reduced fluoride in field water from 5.53 to 0.928 mg/L, a value below the WHO guideline of 1.5 mg/L for fluoride in drinking water. Hence, with the water treatment, the chances of consumers having fluorosis are much reduced.
11 Defluoridation of ground water by using tamarind seed as a low cost adsorbents. Title The Association Between Applying Sodium Fluoride Mouthwash and Decayed Missed Filled Teeth (DMFT) Index in Elementary Students of Charharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran. Author Abdolmajid Fadaei and Masoud Amiri. year 2013 Method Decay missed filled teeth index Mouthwash Sodium fluoride Remark Considering the results that show no improvement in reducing caries and increasing oral health by using of sodium fluoride mouthwash for eight years, careful monitoring of the program and also approaching the drinking water fluoridation, enriching milk and/or flour with fluoride, and adjusting food habits should be taken into account. Finally, periodic visits of students at school or private clinics should be increased.
12 Defluoridation of ground water by using tamarind seed as a low cost adsorbents. Title Fluoridation of water supplies Author Cyrus Cooper, professor of rheumatology. David Coggon, professor of occupational and environmental medicine year 1999 Jul 31 Method - Remark The British government has recently announced a new expert review of fluoride and health with a view to strengthening the legislation that underpins fluoridation of water supplies if the findings are supportive.1 The epidemiological evidence that fluoride protects against dental caries is overwhelming, but in England and Wales less than 10% of the population receives fluoridated water,2 and proposals to extend the coverage provoke strong opposition from a vociferous minority who view the intervention as hazardous and unjustified. The debate raises both scientific and ethical questions.
13 Defluoridation of ground water by using tamarind seed as a low cost adsorbents. OBJECTIVE Optimization of Parameters of water. To Efficient Fluoride Removal maintain the access fluoride contain in water. To provide suitable mitigation measures to the different application of water usage. To secure human health and environment by effect higher concentration of fluoride.

APPLICATIONS Defluorination methods of contaminated water are commonly carried out in Water treatment plants. Industries for disposal of waste water. Municipal corporations. In rural places where there is no proper treated piped water supply system. 15 Defluoridation of ground water by using tamarind seed as a low cost adsorbents.
