What Influenced the Creation. The atom was mainly influenced because Democritus believed in staying away from all the bad in the world. So, he and his mentor “created” the atom.

Interesting facts about Democritus -After his find of the Atomic Theory, Plato called for all of his findings and research to be burned. -He influenced modern day science.

Achievements Him and his mentor Leucippus created the first atomic theory. He was also well respected for the discovery.

Before the Atom Before the idea of atoms was proposed by Democritus, many people believed that the reason for everything (forces, the natural world, etc.) was that of single or multiple divine force[s]

Atomic Hypothesis Everything is composed of atoms, which are “physically, but not geometrically, indivisible” and that between atoms is empty space, atoms are indestructible and in constant motion. Him, Leucippus, and Epicurus created the idea of the shape of atoms.
