Dennis Martire’s Contributions to Boards
and Commissions

Beyond Union Leadership
While Dennis Martire is best known as Vice President and Regional Manager of LiUNA’s
Mid-Atlantic Region, his influence extends far beyond the union. Over the years, he has
contributed his expertise to numerous boards, commissions, and advisory groups, where he
continues to advocate for laborers and public infrastructure.
Strengthening Transportation and Infrastructure
Martire has played vital roles in organizations like the American High-Speed Rail Alliance
Advisory Board, the Blue-Ribbon Commission on Maryland Transportation Funding, and the
Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA). His involvement ensures that major
transportation initiatives consider both worker interests and community needs.
Championing Worker Health and Safety
Worker safety has always been central to Martire’s mission. He is closely involved with the
Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund of North America (LHSFNA), where he helps promote
safer work environments. Additionally, as a Trustee for the Mid-Atlantic Laborers’
Employers Cooperation and Education Trust (MALECET), Martire fosters stronger
partnerships between employers and employees.
Leadership Within Key Committees
Martire also chairs the Mid-Atlantic Regional Organizing Coalition (MAROC) and the
Performance Management Committee, while serving on the Pennsylvania Workforce
Investment Board (PA WIB). Through these roles, he actively shapes workforce policies,
ensuring laborers have the skills and support they need to succeed.
A Broader Legacy

By combining his union leadership with board participation, Martire has established himself
as more than just a union official—he’s a community builder. His contributions improve
public infrastructure, protect workers, and drive economic development across the Mid-
Atlantic region.
