1. ¿QUÉ ES UNA ESCALERA? La escalera manual es un aparato portátil que consiste en dos piezas paralelas o ligeramente convergentes unidas a intervalos por travesaños y que sirve para subir o bajar una persona de un nivel a otro. Las escaleras puedes ser móviles o fijas. Móviles: Simples, extensible, doble, Plataforma. Fijas: Tipo marinero.
PARTES DE UNA ESCALERA
No situar la escalera frente a una puerta. Limpiar de objetos las proximidades del punto de apoyo de la escalera. Situar la escalera sobre el suelo de forma que las zapatas se apoyen sobre un obstáculo suficientemente resistente para que no se deslice. Las superficies deben ser planas, horizontales, resistentes y no deslizantes. La ausencia de cualquiera de estas condiciones puede provocar accidentes. No se debe situar una escalera sobre elementos inestables o móviles. En escaleras simples de un tramo o extensibles se colocarán en la medida de lo posible formando un ángulo aproximado de entre 70 y 75 grados con la horizontal (regla de 1/3 a ¼). CONSIDERACIONES GENERALES
En las escaleras de tijera el ángulo de la abertura debe ser de 30° como máximo, con el limitador de abertura bloqueado. En todo momento disponer de un punto de apoyo y otro de sujeción. El ascenso y descenso se realizará manteniendo en todo momento los 3 puntos de apoyo. No transportar ni manipular cargas por o desde escaleras de mano cuando por su peso o dimensión puede comprometer la seguridad del trabajador. CONSIDERACIONES GENERALES
