ANYTHING GOES QUICKLY! Nothing, Something, Anything

Look for a pair. Each pair will play “rock, paper, and scissors” kind of game but instead of saying such, the players will say “NOTHING, SOMETHING, ANYTHING.” The player who won will be the one who will first answer a question and the other player will wait for her turn. Each player will be given 5 seconds to answer. The player who cannot answer will be given a red flag and will face a consequence after the game.

Objectives Determine the conflict implied in the given situations. Differentiate the types of conflict. Carry out the assigned tasks in giving possible solutions to the conflict in various situations.

WHERE IS THE LOVE?

Process Questions: What do you feel after you listened to the song? Who is the persona in the song? What problems/issues are stated in the song? What was happening during the time period this song represents? Based on the song, who do you think are the ones who are suffering because of the conflicts/issues presented in the song?

Process Questions: What do you think the creator might have wanted the audience to think or feel? Why do you think this song was created? What might have been the creator’s purpose?

Do you think the issues mentioned in the song still happen today? If someone created this song today, what would be different/the same? What trait should we possess to stop these conflicts in our society?

CONFLICT is a struggle or problem faced by the characters. a  literary   element that involves a struggle between two opposing forces

2 KINDS OF CONFLICT External Conflicts refer to the opposition between an individual and some outside forces Internal Conflicts refer to the opposition coming from within oneself.

EXTERNAL CONFLICT Man vs. Man Man vs. Society Man vs. Nature Man vs. Supernatural Man vs. Technology

INTERNAL CONFLICT Man vs. Self

Man vs Man - the central character clashes with another character. Example: a. Cinderella wants to go to the ball, but her wicked step mother prevented her from going so that she would not meet the prince. b. In The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen must go up against other contestants in order to survive

Man vs. Society - the protagonist is placed in opposition with society, the government, or a cultural tradition or societal norm of some kind.  Example: a. Ponyboy genuinely likes Cherry, but their blossoming relationship is strained by the difference in their social circles. b. Atticus Finch opposed his racist community in Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird

Man vs. Nature - The main character fights to endure or overcome forces of nature . Example: a . The fishermen of Barrio Alfonso have hopes of catching plenty of fishes, but then after few hours of fishing in the middle of the sea, they were tormented with a strong storm. b. In Life of Pi, the protagonist must face a tiger trapped in the boat with him

Man vs. Supernatural Entity the main character resists forces that are not in the world. The key to this conflict is that forces that are not of this world threaten the main character. Example: A group of teenagers sleep in a haunted house and began disappearing one by one. A boy wizard must use his powers to protect his community from evil monsters.

Man vs. Technology - the main character resists technological forces. He or she may just struggle to accept or use the technology of a changing world. Example: A group of students gets stuck in an elevator. Frankenstein brings a being to life by sewing together body parts from a graveyard. Despite having good intentions, the monster he created frightens all he encounters and comes after Dr. Frankenstein, blaming the doctor for his miserable existence.

INTERNAL CONFLICT Man vs Self The main character battles himself/herself . The key here is that the battle occurs within the character, though it may involve and affect other characters. Example: In the movie “Tangled Rapunzel”, she cannot decide if she wants to stay in the tower or defy her “mother's” wishes and leave the tower.

What is the conflict implied in the song “Where is the Love?”

Conflict, Anyone? Direction: Identify if the given conflict falls under Internal or External Conflict. Then, determine its kind. 1. Patrick was undecided about whether he should copy his answers from Brainly or watch instructive videos on Youtube before answering his module. 2. Jamie got into a fight with her brother because he failed to show her how to solve the algebraic expression in her homework.

Conflict, Anyone? 3. Byron was suffering from anxiety because of the modules he needed to answer. 4. The COVID-19 became a big hindrance for Tori to learn effectively. Thus, she failed in 5 subjects.

Conflict, Anyone? 5. Janie is on a white-water-rafting trip along a choppy river when their guide suddenly has a heart attack.

In this world full of conflicts, what attitude should you have/possess in coping up with these struggles?

LET’S DO IT RIGHT! Direction: Read aloud the given situations/problems you’ve picked from the choices given and determine the type of conflict it implied. Then, pick a task where you could employ possible things you would do to resolve the conflict in the situation.

1. You were being bullied by your classmates because you belong to LGBTQIA+ Community. 2. As a strong typhoon hit Camarines Sur, Minalabac NHS was submerged in flood again. The students and teachers doesn’t have any idea where to begin again. 3. Alex and Sean are out at sea on a small fishing boat when a large storm hits. After their boat flips over and sinks during the storm, Alex and Scott struggle to make it back to the shore. Just when they think that things can't get any worse, they see a shark fin circling them.

4. After breaking her mother’s favorite vase, Casey struggles to decide whether she should tell her mother the truth or attempt to hide her mistake and blame the family dog. 5. Vanessa makes an art project protesting police brutality. Her art teacher loves the project and tries to feature it in the town art show, but the country commission rejects her project. 6. Tara and her friends accept a dare to sleepover in the old abandoned house in the hill. They acted brave at first, but when they started seeing ghosts they tried to run.
