What’s the Difference between fiction and non-fiction? Non-Fiction : a text or a book giving information or telling the reader true things. Fiction :a story or text that some one has made up .
Features of a fiction book “ Fiction books are filled with made up stories, created from the imagination of the author. They are not real and sometimes they even include talking animals! Fiction books will usually include these features: characters
Features of fiction: settings (time – place)
Features of fiction: plot (problem - solution)
Features of fiction: read in order
Features of fiction: illustrations
Features of a Non-Fiction Book “ Non-fiction” books are based in fact, they give the reader information and help us to learn more about different things. Non-fiction books will usually contain these features:
Features of non-fiction: facts and information
Features of non-fiction: Real information and facts with photographs
Features of non-fiction: Contents page
Features of non-fiction: index An index page helps the reader locate information quickly. The reader will look for a key word in the index . it will tell them which pages that the word will be found on. An index is in alphabetical order.
