Relates to the current state of wellbeing relating to a person’s mind or brain and the ability to think and process information. A mentally healthy brain enables an individual to positively form opinions, make decisions and use logic. Mental Health & Wellbeing MENTAL

Mental Health & Wellbeing

Self-esteem refers to how people feel about themselves. A person with positive self-esteem feels good about themselves. Mental Health & Wellbeing Self-esteem influences behaviour, as people with positive self-esteem are more likely to speak their minds and behave assertively.

Positive thought patterns are also important to achieving mental health and wellbeing. Mental Health & Wellbeing This does not mean looking for the positive in every situation, but instead involves maintaining a realistic, optimistic mindset in the face of challenges. Can you think of an example?

Confidence can be defined as believing in one’s own worth and ability to succeed. Having confidence helps people to accept challenges, such as volunteering to give a speech, and increases their chances of success because they are not concentrating on failure. Mental disorders relate to conditions that significantly impact on thought processes and mental functioning, such as depression and anxiety. Mental Health & Wellbeing All people have a level of mental health and wellbeing, whereas only some people have a mental disorder. Mental health and wellbeing, on the other hand, relates to the overall functioning of the mind and can be positive or negative.

Relates to ideas, beliefs, values and ethics that arise in the mind and conscience of human beings. It includes the concepts of hope, peace, a guiding sense of meaning or value, and reflection on your place in the world. Spiritual Health & Wellbeing SPIRITUAL

A sense of belonging occurs when a person feels like a member or a part of the society or world in which they live.
