COMPANY OVERVIEW Defence laboratory Jodhpur (DLJ) is a laboratory of DRDO is researching in the areas of camouflage, deception, detection, reconnaissance, performance evaluation and life estimation of weapons and ammunition, clothing, equipment and stores under desert conditions, integrated water management.
Department and Role
What is Water purification? It is a process of removing undesirable chemicals, biological contaminants, suspended solids and gases from contaminated water. Purpose is to produce water fit for drinking and other relatable processes.
Atmospheric Water Generator An atmospheric water generator is a device that extracts water from humid ambient air, producing potable water. Water generators, also known as water makers, harvest the moisture suspended in humid air.

Advantages Quality of water generated Previous source of water is not required It does not require prior installation or logistic management.
Water generation by vehicle exhaust condensation recovery setup The water recovery system consists of a device for cooling the exhaust so as to condense out the water, such as a counter-current flow heat exchanger in combination with a chiller (a refrigerant-cooled heat exchanger), which cools the exhaust below its dew point.

ICP-OES Analysis Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) is an analytical technique used to determine how much of certain elements are in a sample. ICP-OES is commonly used to screen for the presence and levels of these elements because of its ability to detect trace contents.
Principle The ICP-OES principle uses the fact that atoms and ions can absorb energy to move electrons from the ground state to an excited state. The amount of light released at each wavelength is proportional to the number of atoms or ions making the transition .

Contribution towards water testing 1. Atmospheric water generator: Metals like Calcium, Magnesium, Aluminum and Arsenic have been found in the water samples of AWG.
Contribution towards water testing 2. Vehicle Exhaust Condensate recovery setup: Metals like Phosphorus, Sodium, Silicon and Pottasium have been found in the sample.
