Mechanism of action Sulfamethoxazole inhibits bacterial synthesis of dihydrofoclic acid by competing with para aminobenzoic. Fosfomycin is bactericidal antibiotic that interferes with cell wall synthesis in both gram – positive and gram – negative bacteria by inhibiting the initial step involving phosphoenolpyruvate synthetase
Nitrofurantoin is activated inside bacteria by reduction via the flavoprotein nitrofurantion reductase to unstable metabolites ,which disrupt ribosomal RNA ,DNA other intracellular components Cephalexin is a bactericidal agent that acts by the inhibition of bacterial cell –wall synthesis Ceftriaxone works by inhibiting the mucopeptide synthesis in the bacterial cell wall
