Writing a Reaction paper
Reaction Paper is a task that requires a student to analyze information and give comments on a certain text or media. A reaction paper is different from a review in that it is composed in the first person and assumes subjective point of view. Working on this type of task, you are welcome to use such phrases as “I believe” or “I think” and even present your thoughts in an emotional manner.
Appropriate structure to follow about writing a reaction paper:
Read the material carefully; Mark interesting places while reading or watching; Write down your thoughts while reading/watching; Come up with a thesis statement; Compose an outline; and Construct your paper.
Reaction writing should engage such steps as:
Careful attention to the text. You need to understand what author was trying to tell the reader; Make sure you understand what the main requirements of your argumentative paper are; Note down your reactions; Annotate important parts and quotations ;
Make drafts; Ask someone to read the paper; Complete a proper formatting (for example, APA style); Write a final draft.
