1) 20-5-16-8-18-1 is the material thrown out by a volcano.

2) A 6-15-19-19-9-12 gives evidence of past life on earth.

3) 7-5-15-20-8-5-18-13-1-12 energy is energy from the earth’s internal heat

4) Once magma reaches the earth’s surface, it is called 12-1-22-1

5) 13-1-7-13-1 is molten rock beneath the earth’s surface.

6) 19-5-1 12-5-22-5-12 is the top of the ocean.

7) 19-5-4-9-13-5-14-20 is rock debris.

8) 22-9-19-3-15-19-9-20-25 measures the resistance to flow of a liquid.

9) An object circling the sun in a non-circular orbit is a 3-15-13-5-20.

10) Weathered material is transported away by natural forces , it is called 5-18-15-19-9-15-14

11) 18-15-20-1-20-9-15-14 is the spinning of the Earth on its axis

12) 3-18-21-19-20 is the outermost layer of the Earth

13) 1-19-20-18-15-14-15-13-25 – the study that deals with heavenly bodies.

14) 16-1-12-5-15-14-20-15-12-15-7-25- the study of the history of life on earth as gathered from the remains of living things called fossils.

` 15) 8-25-4-18-15-19-16-8-5-18-5 the dynamic mass of water that surrounds our planet.

The Earth’s Data Earth our home in space is the third planet in the solar system. It is the only planet that has excellent condition to support life. 4.5 billion years- age of the Earth

Oblate spheroid- shape of the Earth, it a sphere with flat poles and a bulging equator.

MOTIONS OF THE EARTH ROTATION- is the spinning of the Earth in its axis. One complete rotation is equal to 24 hours. REVOLUTION- is the motion of the Earth in its orbit around the sun.

SPHERES OF THE EARTH 1) HYDROSPHERE- the dynamic mass of water that surrounds our planet. The hydrosphere includes the oceans, seas, streams, falls, rivers and lakes, locked as snow and glaciers.

2. ATMOSPHERE- the blanket of gas that envelopes our planet. It contains the air that we breathe, protects us from the harmful solar radiation and insulates us from being frozen.

Nitrogen- most abundant gas in the atmosphere (78%) Oxygen- 2 nd most abundant gas in the atmosphere (21%) Other gases (1%) Carbon dioxide Argon Helium

` 3. LITHOSPHERE- the solid part of the Earth that lies beneath the atmosphere and hydrosphere. The lithosphere includes the mountain, hills, plain, valley, rocks

4. BIOSPHERE- comprises all the living components of the Earth. It includes plants, animals, birds insects, humans

Activity Identify in which sphere of the Earth are the following structures located: 1. Minerals 2. Seas 3. Plants 4. Nitrogen 5. Animals 6. Rocks

7. Volcanoes 8. Oxygen 9. Lake 10. Human 11. Insects 12. Mountain

13. River 14. Sand 15. Carbon Dioxide

Assignment In a one whole sheet of paper, write a poem or a song about the spheres of the Earth. Present your output in front of the class.
